A family new to the area are looking for a nanny to help them with childcare over the summer holidays in the care of their two children aged 6 and 3 years. The parents require a fun, active and easy-going nanny with excellent communication skills and a passion for childcare. The children love going to the park and other play areas, visiting the zoo, going to the theatre, cooking and engaging in creative art activities. The parents are happy for the nanny to mix home activities with days out. The family is relocating to Bruton and the home is within a 15-minute walk from the high street and a short walk to the train station. It is a detached house with a large garden for the children to play in. If you can only work a few weeks or a few days a week, please let us know as this will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities based on the children’s interests.
- Escort the children to parks, the zoo, the theatre and other outings.
- Supervise cooking and creative art sessions at home.
- Ensure a safe environment during play and outdoor activities.
- Manage daily routines and schedules for both children.
- Support children’s developmental and emotional needs.
Requirements
- Minimum two years’ experience in childcare.
- Validity in Paediatric First Aid.
- Up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate.
- Minimum of two professional referees, one of whom must be current or former employer.
- Ability to provide references that are immediately contactable.

- Working days: Monday – Friday.
- Working hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Pay: Up to £20 gross per hour.
- Driving licence not required.
