This family is looking for a fixed‑term Mother’s help nanny to support their 3‑year‑old son and newborn baby. The hours are 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, four days a week (between Monday and Friday), with days scheduled based on the father’s rota. The role can also be arranged as a split shift if desired, and although it is a shared care position, the nanny must be able to work alone and take sole charge of one or both children when required.
The ideal nanny will be kind, fun and positive, with a "muck‑in" attitude and a willingness to work alongside mum. Excellent newborn‑baby experience and current knowledge of best‑practice guidelines are essential. Acting proactively and organised, the nanny will help entertain and plan fun activities during school holidays (e.g. football, park trips or home games) while also providing extra support for the young baby.
Responsibilities- Caring for a 3‑year‑old boy and a newborn baby.
- Catering for the children’s routine, including nursery pick‑up and return.
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks.
- Assisting with settling the baby for naps, sterilising feeds, caring for nappies and maintaining the children’s health routine.
- Managing children’s laundry and keeping the children’s areas tidy.
- Working alone or alongside the mother as required, with confidence in sole charge situations.
- Minimum of two years’ professional nanny experience, including suitable experience caring for very young babies.
- Formal childcare qualification (essential).
- 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Up‑to‑date enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
- At least two professional referees, one of whom must be the current or last employer and must be immediately contactable.
- Professional nanny insurance is recommended but not mandatory.
- Hours: 11 hours per day, 4 days a week.
- Start date: ASAP; end date: beginning of October, with a possibility of extension.
- Pay: up to £20 gross per hour, £880 per week for the 4 days.
- Position is open to an employed or self‑employed basis.
- Location: Bighton, Hampshire, SO24.
- Pets: one small dog.
