Maternity practitioner needed in October, based in York in Bishopthorpe

A lovely opportunity for an experienced maternity practitioner to support first-time parents as they welcome their baby, due in October.

The family are looking for someone who can provide knowledgeable, reassuring guidance as they navigate those first weeks with their newborn.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a medical background or strong clinical experience, although the most important thing is that they are confident, experienced and able to provide calm, practical advice.

The ideal candidate will be up to date with current NHS guidelines and safer sleep practices, with a good understanding of all aspects of newborn care.

Mum plans to breastfeed and would love to have someone who can support her with this, while also providing guidance around feeding techniques and different approaches where appropriate.

The family are keen to learn and would really value someone who can share their knowledge and experience.

The parents are very keen to be hands-on and make their own decisions about their baby’s care. They are therefore looking for someone who can teach, guide and support them without taking over, allowing them to build their confidence as new parents.

This would be a wonderful opportunity for a warm, knowledgeable and experienced maternity practitioner who enjoys empowering first-time parents and helping them feel confident in their new role.

• Gross 24 hourly Rate: £400pd
• Hours of work: 20hrs + 4 hr break
• Days required: up to 6 per week
• Specialist or expert required: Certified Maternity Practitioner
• Minimum experience Level for this job: 5yrs experience within the role
• Details of any qualifications needed for this job: 12hr First Aid, Enhanced DBS, Maternity Practitioner Certificate (L3 minimum).

For all roles with children and the vulnerable you must have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate which is registered on the update service, a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and a minimum of 2 professional referees who are happy for you to share their contact details to our recruiters.
