A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced, warm and proactive live-out Nanny/Housekeeper to join a professional and welcoming family of four in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. The hours of the role are Monday-Friday, 08.00-18.30. There may also be occasional additional hours and babysitting by mutual agreement, which will be paid separately.

The family are looking for someone who will become a valued and trusted part of their household, working alongside two Dads, caring for their happy and active children — a little boy aged 3½ and his seven-month-old baby sister. The eldest attends nursery four days a week, with the baby due to begin nursery for a few days each week in summer next year.

The family would love to find a candidate who takes a genuine interest in the children’s development and enjoys creating a happy, stimulating and nurturing environment for them. They are keen for the children to experience a lovely balance of educational and creative activities at home, alongside plenty of fresh air, outdoor play and opportunities to socialise. Days might include reading, singing, crafts, jigsaws, imaginative play and age-appropriate learning, as well as trips to the park, local playgroups, music classes, library story time and playdates. Above all, the nanny will ensure the children are happy, engaged and safe at all times.

Alongside the childcare, the successful candidate will be happy to take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of the children’s areas and help the household run smoothly. Duties will include:

  • Managing the family laundry and ironing, including bedding
  • Keeping the children’s bedrooms, play areas and belongings tidy and well organised
  • Preparing school and nursery uniforms, sports kits and everything needed for the following day
  • Grocery shopping for the family
  • Preparing fresh, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children, including batch cooking
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen organized
  • Maintaining the family living areas used throughout the day, including running the vacuum around and dusting as needed
  • Keeping on top of the children’s belongings and ensuring everything is prepared and organized
  • Anticipating the family’s needs and staying one step ahead to help family life run smoothly

A weekly cleaner is employed, so no deep cleaning is required. However, the family would really value someone who naturally takes pride in their surroundings and leaves the home tidy, calm and organized at the end of each day.

For nursery runs and activities, the successful candidate will be a confident and careful driver, with a clean driving licence and their own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be reimbursed. This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced Nanny/Housekeeper who is looking for a long-term role with a warm, professional family and who takes pride in providing excellent childcare while helping to create a well-run and happy home.
