This is a lovely opportunity to support first-time parents as they settle into life with their new baby following their return home from hospital. The family will be staying with the maternal grandparents for the first few weeks, providing a wonderful opportunity for everyone to adjust and enjoy this special time together.
The family are looking for an experienced, warm and nurturing Maternity Practitioner who can offer gentle guidance, reassurance and practical support during those important early weeks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with both breastfeeding and bottle feeding, providing knowledgeable, non-judgemental advice while supporting the mother in making the choices that feel right for her and her baby.
It is important that the candidate is up to date with the latest NHS guidance, newborn care recommendations and safe sleep practices, bringing confidence and reassurance to the household.
The mother is keen to learn as much as possible and develop her confidence in caring for her newborn. This role is therefore about finding the perfect balance between hands-on expertise and a supportive, nurturing approach, empowering the parents while allowing them to enjoy those precious first weeks. Having an experienced practitioner alongside them will also offer the grandparents valuable peace of mind, knowing their daughter and grandchild are in capable, caring hands.
As this is a busy household with several family members coming together, flexibility around the day off would be greatly appreciated.
