Live-Out Housekeeper needed for family in South Cave

A warm and welcoming family of six are seeking an experienced live-out Housekeeper to join them on a long-term basis. This will be for around 4 hours per day, 3 days per week – the exact days and hours are flexible. The family are looking to hire on a self-employed basis only.

The family already employs a cleaner once a week, so the majority of the deep cleaning is covered. The Housekeeper’s focus will be on laundry, general tidying, household organisation and ensuring the family home runs smoothly, with some light cleaning between the cleaner’s visits. The family are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is comfortable working independently. Discretion, reliability and a willingness to go the extra mile will be appreciated. The family have a puppy who already has a dog walker, so there is minimal dog-walking required, although some light pet-related duties may occasionally be needed.

The family would ideally like Housekeeper to prepare two family dinners per week. Meals can either be prepared in the family home or at the Housekeeper’s own home, depending on preference. The family eat relatively little meat, so the ability to prepare fresh, family-friendly meals around some simple dietary preferences would be appreciated.

With four children, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the family’s laundry and clothing, ensuring everything is washed, folded and returned to the correct places. They will be proactive, naturally notice what needs doing and be happy to take care of tasks without always being asked. As the family live in a rural location, a full driving licence and access to a car are essential. A confident driver would be welcomed, as there may be occasional requirements in the future to help with transporting the children to extracurricular activities.

The ideal candidate will have previous private-household experience and understand the discretion, organisation and high standards expected in a family home. They will be proactive, reliable and confident managing their own workload, with a genuine eye for detail. Minimum experience Level for this job: Experience with housekeeping preferred, DBS and First aid essential.

Pay: £14,976 gross per annum (£24ph)
