Part time SEN Nanny housekeeper role in Havant PO9.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for two boys, ages ~4 and ~6 years, both autistic (the eldest is non-verbal with a developmental age equivalent to approximately 2 years, has allergies to dairy and soya, and requires the use of nappies; the youngest is highly verbal and inquisitive, requiring some sensory support).
- Manage after‑school routine including homework, dinner, bathtime; Saturday morning routine with clubs, birthday parties, etc.
- Collect both children (nanny car provided or train as needed); transport arrangements to specialist settings.
- Perform 4 hours of housekeeping duties and food preparation per week, scheduled at a suitable time for the candidate.
- Support children in outdoor activities such as gardening, swimming, seaside visits and active play.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a nanny or in a setting with SEN experience.
- Level 3 or above in childcare.
- Paediatric first aid and allergy awareness training.
- Experience caring for autistic children and familiarity with sensory support.
Hours & Schedule:
- Term time: 20 hours per week (3 afternoons of 2.30‑6.30pm, plus Saturday morning 8am‑12pm) plus 4 additional hours of housekeeping duties.
- School holidays: 24 hours per week (3 full days of 8 hours per day).
- Workdays: 3 afternoons + Saturday AM in term time, 3 full days in holidays.
Location & Transport:
- Havant PO9. Nanny can be a driver or use the train; a nanny car is provided to collect the children.
Remuneration & Benefits:
- Up to £20 per hour (depending on qualification level, SEN expertise, and similar experience); average annual gross salary up to £21,840.
- Paid in equal monthly instalments based on total annualised hours.
- Additional paid leave between Christmas and New Year.
- Holiday entitlement increases by one extra paid day each year of employment.
- Ongoing professional development related to the children will be funded by the family.
Other Information:
- Family would consider a nanny with their own child accompanying them to work.
- Housemates: two elderly cats that generally stay away unless they wish for a cuddle.
- Driving not required, but being a driver or use of the train is acceptable.
