We are looking for a live-in nanny for our family of five (boy aged 3, girl aged 18 months, and a newborn). The role is Monday to Friday, approx. 60 hours per week (7 am to 7 pm with daytime flexibility). The family would like someone open to ad-hoc babysitting, though a night nanny will be available for the newborn.
Accommodation
The family provides a fully self-contained private annex above the garage. The renovated annex contains a kitchen, living room, bedroom and en-suite bathroom, offering independence and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Drop off/pick up at nursery
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks
- Take children to classes
- Create age-appropriate activities at home to encourage developmental milestones
- Plan enjoyable trips and outings
- Assist mother with the baby as needed (requires excellent newborn care experience and up-to-date best-practice knowledge)
- Work confidently in shared care and sole charge to enable mother to spend one-on-one time with older children
- Support the eldest child’s interests in cars, outdoors and sports, and the daughter’s reading and sibling activities
Preferred Profile
We seek a warm, calm, proactive, highly capable nanny who values emotional intelligence, initiative, strong organisational skills and a nurturing yet confident approach to childcare. A long-term commitment within a family environment is preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years professional nanny experience with children of similar ages
- Formal childcare qualification (ideally Norland or comparable)
- Paediatric first aid certificate (minimum 12 hours)
- Up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate
- Two professional referees, one of whom must be a current or former employer and both must be immediately contactable
- Candidate insurance recommended (nanny insurance)
- Driver’s licence and vehicle for travel (initially own car)
