About the Role
Starting in mid‑April, a wonderful three‑day opportunity has become available for a warm, caring, energetic, and fun nanny to join a professional and friendly family in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The family is healthy and active, with a love of travel and outdoor activities, and they are looking for a nanny who will become a valued part of their happy home.
You will be caring for one delightful baby boy, aged seven months. Mum will be returning to work after maternity leave in May, after which this will become a sole‑charge role. The hours for this position are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 07.00‑18.00 (33 hours/week). There will be a need for some flexibility with hours due to the parents’ work commitments; however, any additional hours and mutually agreed babysitting will be paid as overtime.
The family would like you to provide a balanced approach to development, supporting their little boy as he reaches his milestones. This should include a range of indoor activities such as reading stories, singing, puzzles, and imaginative play, as well as plenty of time outdoors, including walks and trips to the park. The parents are keen for him to attend activities, groups, and playdates, so a nanny who is sociable and proactive in planning outings will be ideal.
In addition to general childcare, you will be responsible for nursery duties, including preparing healthy, nutritious home‑cooked meals for the baby and batch cooking, keeping his areas organised and tidy, and managing his laundry. You should also have good knowledge of weaning and potty training. Any help with small daily tasks, such as emptying the dishwasher and ensuring toys are tidied away at the end of the day, would be appreciated. The family employs a weekly cleaner.
As the family live close to the centre of town, although not essential, if you do drive, you will need to be a confident, careful driver with a clean licence and a fully insured car. Duty mileage will be reimbursed.
