A fabulous live‑out nanny position has become available, working with a professional and friendly family of three in St Albans, Hertfordshire. You will have sole charge of two happy and active children – a girl aged 14 and her brother aged 10. The children enjoy being busy and take part in many after‑school activities and sports. They are looking for a kind, caring, fun and reliable nanny who will enjoy spending time with them and stay long term.

The hours will be term time (34 weeks) Monday‑Friday, 14.30‑19.30 (25 hours). In the school holidays (18 weeks) the hours will increase to Monday‑Friday, 09.30‑19.30 (50 hours). Your salary will be split evenly across the year. There could also be some ad hoc overnights and additional days, but these will be mutually agreed separately and paid as overtime.

In the school holidays, you will be able to take the children on fun and educational day trips – such as trips to London, the cinema, etc. You will also be able to meet up with their friends to help them to socialise, always keeping the children happy and safe.

Responsibilities
  • Collect children from school or clubs
  • Keep the family organised: general childcare, school admin, overseeing homework
  • Manage family laundry, keeping bedrooms tidy and organised
  • Ensure uniform and sports kits are prepared for the next day
  • Help keep the house running smoothly: kitchen tidy, emptying dishwasher, running the vacuum, running occasional errand, unloading online shopping delivery
  • Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for the family each day, preferably homemade
  • At the end of the day, leave all used rooms tidy, ready for Dad to take over
  • Drive children safely with a clean driving licence in a fully‑insured car; duty mileage will be paid
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum experience: Two years
  • Level 3 childcare qualification preferred, but experience essential
  • Enhanced DBS (update) and 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid required
  • Own fully insured car required; driving duties will be performed
