Harmonic are proud to be exclusively partnering with one of Europe's most established food brands, a business with over 125 years of heritage, a truly international footprint and a reputation built around quality, innovation and strong consumer loyalty. Despite its long-standing heritage, this is a business firmly in growth mode. Having rapidly established itself within UK grocery over the last few years, the brand is now one of the fastest-growing players in its category and is continuing to gain market share. With ambitious plans for further growth, new product launches and expansion into new categories, they are investing heavily in their UK commercial team.
Reporting to the UK Head of Sales, this is a hands-on National Account Management role with ownership of a major UK grocery retailer, think Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda or Morrisons, alongside a smaller, higher-growth account where you'll also have the opportunity to drive new business development. You'll own the commercial relationship across your accounts, developing and executing joint business plans, managing account P&Ls and working closely with distributors and internal teams to deliver ambitious commercial targets. The role suits someone who is equally comfortable managing complex retailer relationships and rolling their sleeves up on more entrepreneurial, sales-led activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop the relationship with a major UK grocery retailer, driving sustainable volume and value growth
- Manage a second, more dynamic account with a focus on commercial development and new business
- Build and execute joint business plans, negotiating terms and promotional programmes to deliver against targets
- Work closely with the distributor and internal stakeholders to align on market strategy and execution
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer performance to surface new opportunities
- Support the planning and execution of trade marketing and promotional initiatives
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses for internal and customer-facing use
- Represent the brand's values and commercial positioning consistently across all customer interactions
National account management experience within FMCG, with direct ownership of a Top 4 UK grocery retailer. Proven track record of delivering against commercial targets with accountability for a P&L. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence buyers and senior stakeholders. Analytically capable: comfortable with sales data, forecasting, and performance reporting. Experience working with a branded food or drink business. Exposure to smaller or emerging accounts alongside a major retailer portfolio.
