The Client
Harmonic are delighted to be working with a fast-growth product design and manufacturing business in their search for a junior CAD design assistant to work closely with the Senior In-House Designer in the daily technical drawings. As the company scales rapidly, they are looking for an ambitious individual who can produce high-quality technical drawings.
The business has over the last few years won awards and is increasingly being recognised for their projects with 5* hotels and coworking spaces. Based in state-of-the-art offices, the company has a defiantly non-corporate culture where collaboration and communication thrive. There is a strong focus on flexibility so this is a role that can fit around current commitments.
The Role
In this role, you will have the ability to use both your design skills, but also gain a commercial insight into how the business operates, with the possibility in the future of joining the business on a full-time basis and learning from the In-House Design team. This position would suit a hard-working individual who has experience within product design or architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Using AutoCAD to produce drawings and models in accordance with clients’ requirements
- Creating high-quality, photorealistic renders using KeyShot for presentations and internal reviews
- Working alongside the in-house designers
- Assisting with floor plans
- Working alongside the sales support team to produce floor plans for new and existing clients
- Refining and adapting existing designs in response to feedback and technical requirements
What the client would like to see (essential):
- 1 years’ experience in a technical drawing position
- Solid AutoCAD skills (or a similar program)
- Experience with a rendering software e.g. KeyShot
- Experience within product design, interior design, furniture design, architecture or manufacturing
What we would like to see (bonus):
- A genuine interest in architecture and design
- Strong understanding of joinery, construction techniques, materials (wood, metal, upholstery), and furniture manufacturing processes
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Strong communication skills
Salary: Up to £28,000 + benefits
Start date: ASAP
