We are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join the merchandising and planning team, supporting a key product category. Reporting into the Senior Merchandiser, you will play a key role in trading performance, forecasting and range optimisation, helping to drive profitability and reduce risk across the department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their merchandising career in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Weekly trade analysis of sales, stock and margin performance
- Identifying risks and opportunities and recommending trading actions
- Supporting markdown and promotional strategies to maximise profit
- Working with buying and design teams to build commercial ranges
- Managing and reviewing department line cards to maintain availability
- Planning and reforecasting WSSI to ensure accuracy and performance alignment
- Analysing historical data and trends to inform trading decisions
- Supporting seasonal range and buy sign-off preparation
- Working closely with ecommerce and marketing teams to optimise product performance
- Managing critical path with buying teams and liaising with suppliers
- Supporting and developing a Merchandising Admin Assistant
- Strong Excel and analytical skills with merchandising experience
- Understanding of retail trading, product and commercial performance
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent numerical and communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced retail environment
