Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis alongside an extremely exciting, fast growth independent rights music management scale up, in the search for a Director of Artist Relations & Management to join their consistently growing team. As a newly created role, there will be huge amounts of autonomy and ownership on offer, while suiting highly curious and ambitious candidates looking to have a real voice at the table during this next growth phase.

The nature of this business is centred around providing real support to independent musicians, artists and label creators to ensure the maintaining of full creative control while maximizing global reach. Providing premium digital distribution and YouTube channel management services to a carefully curated roster of emerging talent, our clients invite-only platform ensures personalized attention for artists who wish to retain complete ownership of their work while accessing industry-leading tools to optimize their presence across the digital music ecosystem.

With tailored solutions for each individual client and their respective career journeys, services include supporting with music distribution, data analysis, promotion strategy, royalties and accounting and YouTube channel management. This comes with the ultimate goal of ensuring artists retain ownership of their music, protecting copyright and earnings, and expanding audience and revenue.

The main purpose of the role will be to lead and scale the Artist Relations and Management function, acting as a senior artist manager, building trusted, long-term relationships with artists, labels, managers, and creators. The role is responsible for long-term artist career development, release strategies, platform growth, audience development, retention, and overall satisfaction, ensuring artists receive best-in-class management-style support.

Duties:

  • Act as senior artist manager and trusted advisor for artists and creators.
  • Develop and own long-term artist career strategies, including creative direction, release planning, platform growth, and monetisation.
  • Work closely with artists and their teams (managers, labels, agents, publicists) to align goals and execute career plans.
  • Lead release strategy across singles, EPs, and albums.
  • Support artists in audience and fan engagement, and digital brand building.
  • Oversee delivery of artist services.
  • Translate platform data and performance insights into clear, actionable recommendations for artists and their teams.
  • Identify opportunities for growth across monetisation, content strategy, partnerships, and new platforms.
  • Ensure artists understand and maximise the value businesses services.
  • Build deep, long-term relationships with artists, managers, labels, and partners.
  • Act as the internal voice of the artist, championing artist needs and priorities across the business.
  • Support onboarding of new artists in collaboration with Sales and Client Relations, ensuring a smooth transition into artist management.
  • Build, lead, and mentor the Artist Relations and Management team.
  • Set KPIs focused on artist growth, retention, campaign performance, and satisfaction.
  • Establish best practices, workflows, and frameworks aligned with modern artist management and label services models.
  • Contribute to the overall music strategy in partnership with the Head of Music.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Client Relations, and other teams to align artist strategies with business goals.
  • Support commercial initiatives without owning direct sales targets, ensuring artist interests remain central.
  • Collaborate with external partners and platforms where required to support artist growth.

What we’d like to see (essential):

  • Strong background in artist management, artist services, artist relations, or label services.
  • Strong experience working directly with artists, managers, labels, and agents.
  • Deep understanding of the modern music industry, digital distribution, and platform-led growth.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Excellent communicator with a passion for relationship-building, music, culture, creativity, and artist development.

What we’d like to see (bonus):

  • Experience in fast growth start up / scale up beneficial but not essential.

Salary: up to £70k base + uncapped commission package

Location: London (hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 from home)
