The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a fast-growing marketplace business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant.

Our client operates across multiple markets and is expanding both in the UK and internationally. They are investing heavily in their finance function, technology, and people to support ambitious growth plans.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial scale-up environment. The role is well-suited to candidates who enjoy combining technical accounting with systems optimisation and process improvements in a fast-paced business.

The Role

The Senior Management Accountant will take ownership of the month-end process, compliance, and technical accounting, while also driving improvements across financial systems and controls using Xero.

This position suits candidates who enjoy working in high-growth businesses such as retail, consumer brands, digital agencies, or marketplaces.

  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage audits and act as the key point of contact.
  • Oversee invoice processing, cashflow monitoring, reconciliations, and chasing outstanding items. AP/AR are currently managed by an outsourced function.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and the full utilisation of Xero and related finance platforms.

What our client would like to see (requirements):

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, CPA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK and US GAAP, VAT, Corporation Tax, Payroll).
  • Confident with financial systems, ideally Xero, with experience in ERP platforms.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.

What we would like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience working in retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, digital agencies, or marketplaces.
  • Previous experience in a scale-up or SME.
  • Passion for process automation and financial technology.
