Our client is a dynamic, fast‑scaling media production business with a strong reputation for the quality of its output and breaking moulds in the creative industry. The business has experienced significant growth in recent years and is building out its internal finance function to match. This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of how the business operates day to day.

This is a hands‑on Management Accountant position working closely with both the operational and leadership teams. You will be the primary finance presence in the studio, acting as the first point of contact for finance queries across the business and working alongside a fractional finance function that provides strategic oversight and technical guidance.

The role spans both management accounting and day‑to‑day operational finance, meaning you will be as comfortable preparing monthly management accounts as you are helping non‑finance teams understand budgets and cost structures. There is genuine room to grow here. As the business scales, this role scales with it, and the leadership team is actively invested in the development of the people they bring in; the plan is to progress the right candidate to Financial Controller at pace.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare management accounts with clear, straightforward commentary
  • Maintain a rolling 13‑week cash flow, keeping it accurate and up to date
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes alongside an outsourced team
  • Prepare payroll, support invoicing and credit control, and assist with revenue recognition
  • Build, track, and manage project budgets in collaboration with operational teams
  • Track spend against budget across productions
  • Comfortable working across a P&L, with the ability to interrogate variances, identify trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable insight for the wider business
  • Produce clear, timely reporting that gives the wider business a live view of where things stand
  • Act as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day finance questions across the business
  • Support process improvement and help document finance workflows as the business develops
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the Leadership Team

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Experience in a hands‑on finance role within a creative, project‑based, SME, or start‑up environment
  • Confident navigating a P&L and working across budgets

  • A love for media, entertainment, and the creative industries

What We'd Like to See (Bonus)

  • Experience using AI tools within a finance or operational workflow
  • An interest in process improvement and building scalable systems

Package

  • Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
  • Location: North London, 5 days a week in‑office (with ad hoc flexibility as needed)
  • Progression: View to promote to Financial Controller depending on performance
