Accounts Payable Assistant | Fast-Growth Hospitality Group | North London / Hybrid
Harmonic is proud to partner with a fast-growing hospitality group to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their Group Finance function.
With a turnover of approximately c.£20 million and an EBITDA of £4.5 million, this is one of the UK's most profitable hospitality groups. The business operates across 30 sites, including pubs, restaurants, and boutique hotels, and continues to scale. This role will sit within the central finance team and support the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations across the group.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their finance career in a dynamic, multi-site environment. The business is supportive of professional development and will offer study support for AAT or similar qualifications for the right candidate.
The Role:
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager and working closely with the wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:
- Invoice Processing: Accurately match, code, and post a high volume of purchase invoices across multiple entities and locations.
- Supplier Management: Set up and maintain supplier accounts, resolve queries, and build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on any discrepancies or missing documentation.
- Payment Support: Assist with weekly and monthly payment runs, including BACS processing and remittance advice.
- AP Mailbox Management: Monitor and respond to emails in the shared accounts payable inbox promptly and professionally.
- Employee Expenses: Support with processing and checking employee expense claims in line with company policies.
- Filing & Admin: Keep digital records up to date and assist with audit requests and month-end close tasks.
- Systems Use: Work with Xero and invoice scanning software (training provided as needed).
What the client would like to see (essential):
- At least 6 months - 1 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site or multi-entity environment (e.g. hospitality, retail, FMCG)
- Good Excel skills (basic formulas, lookups, filtering)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Keen attitude to learn and develop in a fast paced environment
Desirable (non-essential):
- Studying AAT (or planning to start); study support is available if this is an ambition of yours.
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software would be useful but not essential
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Salary: Up to £30,000 + AAT study support + company benefits
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the North London office / 2 days WFH
