Our client is a scaling production company with an impressive and growing body of work. You'll be stepping into a visible, business-facing leadership role with genuine scope to evolve into a Finance Director position over time. This is ideal for a strong Financial Controller with an interest in leaning into commercial finance over time.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the core finance function, ensuring strong controls, accurate reporting, and efficient processes across the group. You'll oversee day-to-day finance operations, manage two junior team members, and work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to provide meaningful financial insight and commercial guidance. There is clear scope for the role to broaden over time, moving beyond core controllership into deeper commercial involvement, strategic planning, and board-level input, with a long-term view to stepping into a Finance Director position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts
  • Oversee quarterly reporting and statutory accounts preparation
  • Manage VAT returns and quarterly financial reporting requirements
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, acting as the key point of contact for auditors
  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance across UK operations
  • Liaise with US offices to ensure accurate reporting, alignment of processes, and group consolidation
  • Oversee production accounting, including managing multiple SPVs and ensuring appropriate cost tracking, reporting, and controls across projects
  • Manage two junior finance team members, providing mentorship and structure
  • Business partner closely with the CEO, providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Continuously review and improve systems, controls, and processes to support scaling operations
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the wider leadership team

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) ideally with experience in practice
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller
  • Experience in and passion for the creative industries

Package:

Salary: £85,000-£100,000 DOE
Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid working pattern (London-based)
