Harmonic Group Ltd Careers

Royalty Accountant | Global TV Production and Distribution Group | London / Hybrid

Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a global TV production and distribution giant, home to a group of operating companies and a deep catalogue of third-party producer relationships. Royalty accounting sits at the core of how the business pays its creative partners and protects those relationships. This is a chance to join a finance function that is continuing to develop its royalty capability.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, the Royalty Accountant will own quarterly royalty cash reporting for both internal entities within the group and third-party producers, alongside royalty cash forecasting. You will be the primary point of contact for producers on their royalty statements, and you will keep the royalty systems accurate and current. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative team, with the opportunity to move beyond cash statements into the wider accounting side, work closely with the Acquisitions team, and step up into a Senior Royalty Accountant position over time. The team is expecting someone who can pick up its systems and ways of working quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly royalty reports for third-party producers and Group Operating Companies, in line with contractual deadlines
  • Act as the primary point of contact for producers, resolving queries arising from royalty statements
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date acquisition data within the royalty reporting systems, working closely with the Acquisitions team
  • Manage, code and review all producer invoices resulting from royalty reporting
  • Prepare cash forecasts and budgets for future royalty payments
  • Support the monthly reconciliation of royalty and participation liabilities, ensuring balances are correctly reflected in the general ledger
  • Review producer reporting arrangements, identifying agreements approaching expiry or requiring a change in reporting frequency
  • Account for expired titles, including preparing final producer reports, processing provision releases and writing off outstanding expenses while assessing the P&L impact of the related journals
  • Contribute to the continued development and automation of the royalty accounting function
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the wider Royalties and Finance function

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Previous experience working as a Royalty Accountant, ideally 3-5 years of dedicated royalty exposure

What We'd Like to See (Bonus)

  • Ideally TV and Film royalties exposure (but open to any media/entertainment royalties experience, i.e. music)

Package:
Salary: Β£50,000-Β£60,000
Location: West London
Hybrid Pattern: 3 days in-office, 2 days work from home (WFH)
Start Date: Ideally ASAP (up to 1 month notice okay)
