Harmonic is working with a well-established, internationally operating music business with a strong brand and a loyal global audience. The organisation is looking for a Senior Finance Director (Strategy & Corporate Development) to join their finance team in a newly created role.
The Role
This is a strategic finance position with real breadth and genuine ownership. While it sits within the corporate finance function, the scope leans firmly toward corporate development and strategic finance. Debt raising, valuation and capital structure work sit at the heart of the role: you will support refinancing transactions and credit facility negotiations, own capital structure planning, and lead the valuation and financial evaluation of strategic growth initiatives. The technical bar is high. You will build and own complex multi‐year financial models from scratch, and you will be trusted to run them autonomously: leading budgeting and reforecasting across all business units, then taking your analysis directly to the C‐suite and board without layers of review above you. This is a role for someone who can do the work end to end, from model build through to presenting the story to the people making the decisions. You will also lead and develop a small, capable team based internationally, while managing banking relationships including covenant reporting.
Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the group's multi‐year financial models, built from scratch
- Multi‐entity budgeting, capital structure planning and scenario analysis
- Valuation and investment appraisal of strategic growth initiatives
- Business case modelling to support major commercial decisions
- Central role in capital markets activity: debt raising, refinancing and credit facility negotiations
- Liaising directly with banks and lenders, owning covenant reporting and compliance
- Leading the global budgeting process end to end
- Running quarterly reforecasting across all business units, integrating revenue, margin, cost and cash flow
- Owning strategic planning, turning long‐range ambitions into multi‐year financial plans
- Month‐end close analysis and variance commentary
- Preparing and presenting board‐level reporting packs autonomously, direct to C‐suite and board
- Managing and developing two direct reports based internationally
- Ad hoc tasks to support the wider finance team and Board/C‐Suite
What We Need to See (Essential)
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA)
- Strong technical modelling skills, with experience building complex models from scratch
- Solid understanding of debt raising, capital structure and refinancing transactions
- A love of music and passion for the music industry
What We'd Like to See (Bonus)
- Prior experience in the entertainment or creative industry beneficial but not essential
Package
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in office)
