The Client
Harmonic are proud to be partnering with a fast-growing, PE-backed international consultancy group in their search for a Power BI Finance Analyst. With offices in the UK, US, and Asia, this is a business with genuine scale and growth ambitions - pursuing an active acquisition strategy alongside strong organic growth.
The Finance team sits at the heart of a dynamic, data-driven organisation, and this hire has been created to strengthen financial reporting and analytics capability at a pivotal moment in the business's journey. You'll partner with a high-calibre Finance Director to build best-in-class reporting systems and dashboards.
The Role
You'll join the finance team (and work collaboratively with the data team) and take ownership of Power BI reporting and dashboard development across the group. This is a rare blend of technical finance and front-end data work - you'll need to understand the rhythm of financial reporting as much as you understand DAX and Power Query.
Working closely with a dedicated internal data team, you'll build and maintain dashboards that translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight for senior finance and operational stakeholders. There is a real opportunity to expand the current reporting suite into more sophisticated financial analysis, including cash flow forecasting and agency-level P&L visibility, and to make a meaningful contribution to how the group integrates newly acquired businesses.
The Finance Director is looking for someone who brings both analytical rigour and the confidence to work with senior finance teams - someone who can not only build the reports, but add commentary, surface insights, and drive conversations with the business.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, identifying key KPIs and trend analysis to support commercial decision-making
- Support regular financial reporting cycles including month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Work with the internal data team to assess data quality and integrity, developing an understanding of how source systems flow into the data lake and through to Power BI
- Create data mapping and transformation plans to support the integration of newly acquired businesses
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve data processes
- Provide training and support to finance users and stakeholders to drive adoption and understanding
- Act as the key point of contact for data-related queries across finance teams
- Collaborate with agency finance teams, finance, IT and the data team to capture requirements and troubleshoot reporting issues
- Maintain documentation of reporting processes, data models and methodologies
What our client needs to see (essential)
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
- Solid understanding of financial statements and the month-end reporting cycle
- Experience working with large datasets and building commercial dashboards
- Strong communicator, able to translate data-driven insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
What our client would like to see (non-essential)
- Experience in a multi-entity finance environment
- Exposure to financial systems integration or acquisition finance
- Interest in AI and automation within finance
