With continued growth across multiple markets, finance plays a critical role in supporting commercial performance and driving strategic decision-making across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Accountant looking to join a dynamic finance team in a fast-paced, multi-channel business. You will take ownership of key areas of the month-end process, manage and develop junior team members, and partner closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver meaningful financial insights. This role offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence decision-making in a highly commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet integrity and month-end close
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver meaningful analysis, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision‑making
- Provide clear insight on financial performance, including variance analysis and reporting to budget holders
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting tools
- Support system enhancements and data accuracy across finance platforms
- Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and support for audit and statutory requirements
- Lead and develop junior team members, fostering a high‑performing finance function
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in management accounting and inventory accounting
- Commercially focused with strong analytical capability
- Experience managing and mentoring junior finance professionals
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information
- Proactive, organised, and solutions‑oriented
- Exposure to retail, e-commerce, FMCG or equivalent sectors
- Experience with multi‑currency, multi entity, and omnichannel environments
- Advanced Excel skills, and experience using BI tools
Location: Newcastle / Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days at home)
