Head of Finance (Reporting & FinOps) | Pre-IPO Fintech | London / Hybrid

Harmonic is partnering with a profitable, scaled UK fintech to hire a Head of Finance ahead of a potential IPO or strategic exit. Backed by top-tier investors, the business has grown quickly while staying profitable, and is now building the reporting, controls and governance a listed company needs. This role leads that work, and also shapes how the finance function uses AI and automation as it scales.

The Role

This is the senior technical finance role, owning three areas: corporate reporting, financial operations and finance transformation. You'll sit within the finance senior leadership team, and own the financial statements, the audit relationship and the reporting and controls side of IPO readiness. Alongside that, you will shape how finance works as the business builds out its data and AI capability. It is both strategic and hands-on: the year-end and regulatory deadlines are real, and so is the transformation agenda.

• Corporate Reporting
  • Lead the corporate reporting strategy, making sure it supports the wider business objectives
  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all statutory and regulatory reporting, including annual accounts, consolidated financial statements and tax filings
  • Own the external audit relationship and technical accounting, assessing the impact of changes in accounting standards and regulation
  • Support investor relations with accurate, timely financial information
  • Alongside the finance senior leadership team, drive IPO readiness across reporting, governance and financial controls
• Finance Transformation
  • Own finance systems and data, making sure they scale with the business
  • Lead the adoption of AI and automation across the finance function
  • Continuously improve processes and ways of working to raise accuracy, efficiency and insight
• Financial Operations
  • Provide strategic oversight of day-to-day financial operations, including payables, payroll and tax
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures and controls that protect the integrity of financial data
  • Maintain a robust internal controls framework that manages financial risk and meets regulatory requirements

Experience and Skills

• Qualified accountant (ACA preferred), with a Big 4 or practice background
• Experience in a listed business; IPO experience is desirable
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
• Hands-on experience applying AI and automation in finance
• A track record of leading complex finance functions, improving processes and embedding effective controls
• Strong project management across internal and external stakeholders
• Financial services or fintech experience is a plus
