Harmonic is excited to be working exclusively with one of London’s most innovative visual effects companies. They are entering a rapid scale-up phase and are seeking a Fractional Head of Finance to join the team. This is a remote position for one day per week, offering a unique opportunity to shape the financial and strategic future of a high-growth creative business.

The Client

Our client is an exciting, founder-lead visual effects business, having won major industry awards in recent years for their high-quality, fan favourite work. They have exciting growth plans ahead and are looking for a Head of Finance to support their strategic growth.

The Role

In this role, you’ll lead the finance strategy and help lay the foundations for sustainable growth. Acting as a key advisor to the Founder, you’ll bring a commercial lens to financial planning and use your insights to influence business decisions. You’ll own the forecasting process, manage key financial models, and offer strategic support across all areas of the business. There will also be a strong technical accounting focus to support business operations at a high level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Founder, supporting planning and growth initiatives
  • Deliver financial analysis and insights to improve commercial performance
  • Build and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans
  • Provide strategic input on the use of newly secured investment and evaluate growth risks and opportunities
  • High Level, hands on technical accounting
  • Support potential fundraising processes and investor engagement
  • Review and advise on commercial contracts and strategic partnerships

What We Need to See (Essential Experience):

  • Demonstrated success in a senior finance leadership role, within a creative or media environment
  • Strong strategic thinking with a commercial edge and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Deep experience in financial operations, planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Comfortable operating as the standalone finance expert in a small team
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Strong Technical accounting ability
