Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth SaaS business building technology used across the global financial services space. This is a rare chance to shape the back-office of a genuinely differentiated technology company at an early, formative stage.
The Fractional Finance & Operations Director will own finance, day-to-day operations, and HR across the business. This is a hands-on, broad remit for someone who is happy rolling up their sleeves across everything from management accounts and cashflow through to operational process and people administration. The role starts at around two days per week on-site, with clear scope to increase days as the business grows. You will be the person the business trusts to keep the engine running and to bring order, pace, and modern systems thinking to a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day finance function, including management accounts, cashflow forecasting, payroll oversight, and supplier and client payments.
- Run day-to-day operations, keeping internal processes, tools, and administration organised and efficient.
- Lead HR administration, including onboarding, contracts, and supporting the leadership team as the headcount grows.
- Introduce and improve systems and automation, making the finance and operations function faster, cleaner, and more scalable.
- Provide clear, timely financial and operational information to leadership to support decision-making.
- Support planning, budgeting, and reporting, including preparation for future investment and diligence.
- Act as a trusted, reliable pair of hands across the back-office, turning work around quickly and independently.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Trained in a Big 4 firm, ideally with around four years of relevant experience post or through qualification.
- Genuinely tech-savvy and comfortable working with modern finance and operational software, automation, and cloud tools.
- Broad experience across finance, operations, and HR, ideally within a small or scaling business.
- Able and willing to work fully on-site in London.
Bonus Experience
- Experience in a SaaS, software, or other technology business.
- Exposure to an early-stage or fast-scaling environment where the back-office is being built out.
- Familiarity with an FCA-regulated business.
Location: London, fully on-site
