The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a critical technical accounting role with broad exposure across the business. You will take ownership of month-end close, complex accounting areas, and statutory reporting, while supporting system improvements and strengthening financial controls.
The role offers a strong blend of hands-on technical delivery and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with FP&A, operations, and external advisors across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Act as a technical accounting lead, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Own inventory accounting across wholesale and e-commerce channels, including valuation, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Monitor daily cash flow and support banking and treasury activities.
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reporting and support the external audit process.
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, controls, and automation within finance.
- Support ERP and systems implementation projects, ensuring alignment with reporting requirements.
- Partner with FP&A and operational teams to improve insight, accuracy, and decision-making.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, or CIMA).
- Strong technical accounting background, ideally within wholesale, e-commerce, retail, or a similar environment.
- Proven experience improving processes and embedding robust controls.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing environment.
Location: London Hybrid (3 days in the office)
