Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with one of the world's leading international contemporary art galleries, representing globally recognized artists and estates across major art market hubs internationally. Despite its global reach, the London team is close-knit with an open, collegiate culture where finance sits alongside sales, artist liaison and registrar teams rather than apart from them. This is a newly created, senior finance role, shaped to support the next stage of the team's transformation.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a brand new position rather than a replacement, created to strengthen leadership across the gallery's artist-to-cash cycle. You will sit above two established functions (the Global Invoicing team and an Artist Accounts teams), providing strategic oversight and senior escalation support while owning the end-to-end monthly artist and consignor reporting and settlements.

The role combines strategic oversight with genuine hands-on ownership of complex artist relationships, and carries two direct reports plus indirect leadership of the wider function. You will also lead a live transformation of the artist-to-cash cycle, including system enablement and process automation, and act as process owner for the group's ERP and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly artist and consignor statement and settlement process across all represented artists and estates, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and payment.
• Act as the senior finance point of contact for artists, estates, studios and their accountants, building trusted, long-term relationships.
• Provide strategic oversight of global invoicing across all entities, partnering with and providing senior cover for the Associate Director of Global Invoicing.
• Lead the transformation process for the artist-to-cash cycle, driving automation, standardization and system enablement.
• Own the sales commission process end to end, reviewing and approving calculations and acting as finance escalation point for commercial teams.
• Own aged debtor reporting and compliance for credit card processing.
• Coach and develop a small direct team.
• Ad hoc tasks to deputize for the CFO and support the wider business function

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant experience in artist accounting, royalty accounting, settlements, receivables or a closely related finance function.
• Experience operating within a multi-entity, multi-currency international environment.
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing a team.
• Track record of delivering process improvement and system-enabled change.

What We’d Like to See (Bonus)

• Experience within the art market, auction houses, luxury goods, publishing, music or licensing sectors
• Knowledge of artist agreements, commission structures and royalty-based payment models
