Harmonic is delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a SaaS scale‑up that is searching for a Fractional Finance Director. This role is initially for a 6‑month contract, 3 days per week, remote based. Reporting into the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral role in the growth of the business and improvement of processes.
With a finance team of three managing the bulk of the transactional finance and month‑end, this role is focused on providing commercial insights, strategic finance input and broader FP&A. It will therefore suit a commercially strong Finance Director with extensive FP&A and commercial finance experience, namely at a SaaS business.
Duties:- Provide strategic financial leadership, developing both short and long‑term financial plans, supporting capital strategy, overseeing lender reporting, and guiding the business through funding events.
- Partner closely with the CEO to ensure accurate forecasting and commercial modelling, and drive data‑led decision‑making across the organisation.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across all departments to inform key growth initiatives, operational priorities, and resource allocation.
- Work with the Sales, Customer Success and Engineering teams to ensure sound commercial decisions, protect gross margins, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Support Sales and Customer Success by reviewing contract terms and conditions, balancing customer flexibility with appropriate risk management.
- Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, managing group consolidation, and producing a comprehensive management reporting pack.
- Lead on technical accounting matters, including lease accounting and financial instrument valuations.
- Qualified accountant (ideally ACA/CA).
- Demonstrable experience as a senior finance leader within an early‑stage SaaS business.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and revenue models, including ARR/MRR, churn, gross margin, CAC, LTV, and cohort analysis.
- Proven ability to build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and dashboards in Excel that support strategic decision‑making.
