The Client Harmonic is delighted to be working on a rare opportunity to step into a commercial, investment-facing FP&A role inside a fast-scaling energy infrastructure group, backed by long-term capital and operating at the centre of the UK’s energy transition. The business owns and develops regulated energy assets, has £100m+ of contracted projects deploying over the next decade, and is now investing heavily in building a commercial finance capability that can support growth, pricing, and capital allocation decisions at scale.
The Role As FP&A Analyst, you will sit within the Commercial Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance, and act as the bridge between day-to-day performance, long-term planning, and investment decision-making. This is a forward-looking role with exposure across forecasting, business planning, bid pricing, and investment modelling. The remit is deliberately broad and still evolving, making it ideal for someone with solid foundations who wants to be moulded, take ownership early, and grow into a senior commercial finance role over time. You will business partner senior stakeholders across three core business units and play a meaningful role in shaping how the group prices work, allocates capital, and measures returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop forecasting and business planning models across multiple business units
- Analyse actual vs forecast performance across live assets to assess ROI and value creation
- Support commercial pricing and bid models for new work
- Evolve pricing assumptions using market and sector data to balance competitiveness with IRR targets
- Finance Business Partnering: Build and maintain commercial insight for senior stakeholders and BU leads
- Support investment modelling for new projects and potential acquisitions
- Develop group-wide KPI dashboards and performance reporting
- Support longer‑term initiatives such as five‑year planning exercises
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years post-qualified, ACCA or CIMA
- Experience through at least one budgeting and forecasting cycle
- Strong Excel and financial modelling foundations
- Exposure to cash flow forecasting and forward-looking analysis
- Commercial mindset, curious, analytical, and comfortable asking questions
- Confident communicator, able to engage with non-finance stakeholders
- Prior FP&A/Commercial role
- Exposure to regulated, infrastructure, energy, or capital-intensive businesses
- Experience supporting pricing, bids, or investment cases
- Interest in the energy transition and infrastructure development
