FP&A Analyst | Global Music Technology Business | London/Hybrid
Our client is a well-established, globally recognised music business with a passionate customer base and a brilliant culture. The business is in an exciting phase of growth and investment, and the finance team is expanding to match. This is a newly created role offering genuine breadth and exposure from day one.
The Role
This is an FP&A role suited to someone with a strong foundation in finance and accounting, ideally 4-5 years of broad experience including at least 1-2 years specifically within FP&A or a commercially focused analytical role. You will work directly alongside the Head of FP&A and gain regular exposure to the CEO and senior leadership team, taking real ownership of forecasting, budgeting, and board-level reporting across the business. This is best suited to someone already comfortable operating at this level who is looking for a smaller team and more ownership of the day-to-day, rather than a significant step up in scope.
The team is small but high-performing, and the culture is open, collaborative, and creative. You will sit in an open-plan office alongside marketing, label, and leadership teams, so we are looking for someone warm, proactive, and confident communicating with everyone from the C-suite to creative teams.
Responsibilities
- Own forecasting and budgeting cycles across the business, working closely with budget holders
- Prepare actuals vs. forecast analysis, providing clear variance explanations and commentary on the drivers
- Analyse key commercial and operational KPIs and translate these into clear P&L impact and insight
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel
- Support the preparation of board materials and leadership presentations
- Work closely with the Head of FP&A on planning and reporting deliverables
- Partner with non-finance teams across the business, translating numbers into clear commercial insight
- Potential exposure to corporate finance and corporate development projects
- Ad hoc tasks/analysis and support for the leadership team as the business develops
What We Need to See (Essential)
- 4-5 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 1-2 years in a dedicated FP&A or commercially focused analytical role
- Proven experience analysing P&L/income statement performance, with confident variance analysis and clear commentary on the underlying drivers
- Experience working with commercial or operational KPIs, understanding how these inputs drive financial performance
- Confident communicator, comfortable partnering with stakeholders across the business
What We’d Like to See (Bonus)
- Experience within a subscription or platform business model
- A genuine passion for music and the creative industries
- Experience working with subscriber, usage, or transaction-based KPIs
Package:
Location: Central London
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office, with flexibility
Progression: Genuine scope to grow with a scaling finance team, with exposure to senior leadership from day one
