As part of its next phase of accelerated growth, they are now seeking a commercially minded, hands‑on Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function. As the #1 in finance, you'll partner closely with the senior leadership team. You will play a key role in strengthening financial governance, enhancing robust financial controls, and delivering timely, insight-driven management information. Acting as a trusted finance business partner, you will support data‑led decision‑making across sales, merchandising, buying, and production, helping to drive profitability, cash flow optimisation, and sustainable growth in a dynamic, trend‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce quarterly management accounts, including stock, accruals, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain accurate, well‑reconciled ledgers in Xero
- Support year‑end accounts preparation with external accountants
- Own end‑to‑end AP/AR process
- Manage and reconcile team credit card expenses
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
- Report into and reconcile invoice financing facilities
What we need to see (essential)
- Experienced accountant with strong stock, management accounting and VAT experience
- Exposure to international trade and foreign exchange
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in SME, retail, FMCG, or equivalent
- Strong AP, AR, reconciliation and cash flow management skills
- Detail‑oriented, adaptable and keen to grow
What we’d like to see (non-essential)
- Fashion, retail or FMCG experience
- Experience with international trade, importing and foreign exchange
- Exposure to invoice financing facilities
- Experience with Xero
- Background working in a lean finance team
