Finance Director | Consumer / E-Commerce | Scaling Food Subscription Brand | London
Harmonic is working alongside a fast-growing food subscription business, looking to appoint a first Finance Director at a pivotal stage of growth.
This is a broad, high-impact role that sits at the centre of the business. You'll take full ownership of finance: setting strategy, managing lending and treasury relationships, and putting in place the reporting and controls needed to support the business as it scales internationally. You'll inherit a small team, which you'll lead and develop, while carrying the strategic agenda yourself and shaping how the function grows over time.
Strategic Finance & Partnering
- Shape and deliver the financial strategy behind the company's growth plans
- Give the leadership team the forecasts and insight they need to make fast, informed decisions
- Own and interrogate the long-range forecast model, turning it into insight the business can act on
- Run benchmarking work to see how the business compares against the market
- Assess new strategic opportunities and their impact on growth and market position
- Partner closely with the Supply Chain team on forecasting, supplier performance, and demand planning
- Build financial models that bring together supply chain costs, working capital needs, and supplier payment terms
Financial Operations & Governance
- Take ownership of the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycle
- Build reporting that captures the supply chain metrics that matter most: supplier cost variances, landed and fulfilment costs, stock holding, and lead times
- Lead a lean but affective finance function team, growing the capability over time
- Ensure financial statements are accurate and delivered on time, coordinating R&D claims with internal and external advisors
- Spot and manage financial and commercial risk before it becomes a problem
- Put in place strong systems, processes, and controls
- Keep the business audit- and compliance-ready
Treasury & Capital Management
- Manage treasury to keep surplus cash working as hard as possible
- Act as the main point of contact for the lender and take ownership of the facility relationship
- Track covenant compliance on a rolling basis so headroom is always visible well ahead of time
- Time drawdowns to the working capital cycle, weighing up utilisation, interest cost, and available headroom
Experience & Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent); an MBA or similar is a plus but not required
- Background in a high-growth consumer business. Experience in eCommerce is a must; subscription experience is a strong bonus but not essential.
- Comfortable setting financial strategy in a fast-moving environment
- Strong FP&A background: modelling, scenario planning, and pulling insight out of complex data
- Confident managing relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors
- Equally open to candidates from adjacent consumer subscription sectors, such as beauty, personal care, or wellness.
Location: London
