Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing podcasting company that sits at the intersection of content, culture, and technology. With a portfolio of highly engaged shows and a growing commercial footprint, the business is investing heavily in data and insights to better understand its audience and unlock new revenue opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of audience analytics in a creative, entrepreneurial environment — working closely with commercial, sales, and partnerships teams to translate data into meaningful, revenue‑driving insight.

The Role

Reporting to a talented Chief Commercial Officer, this Audience Insights Manager will play a central role in shaping how the business understands and monetises its audience. Your core focus will be on analysing audience and subscriber behaviour, engagement and retention to build clear, accessible dashboards and provide insights that inform commercial strategy and decision‑making.

You’ll work with large data sets across multiple platforms, combining technical analysis with strong stakeholder communication. This role suits someone who enjoys working hands‑on with data but is equally comfortable explaining what it means to non‑technical teams. You’ll have plenty of visibility across all levels of the business, including C‑Suite executives, and be keen to get stuck in within a fast‑paced, exciting environment. This role is 5 days per week in‑office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed technical data analysis on audience engagement, listening behaviour, and retention across the podcast portfolio.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, join, and analyse large data sets from multiple sources.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards that provide clear, usable insights for commercial, sales, and partnerships teams.
  • Own the reporting of audience demographics, segmentation, and behavioural trends to support targeting and monetisation strategies.
  • Translate analytical findings into commercially relevant insight, helping stakeholders understand why audiences behave as they do.
  • Support commercial strategy by providing data‑led insight for pitches, proposals, and partnership conversations.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency and clarity across all audience reporting outputs.
  • Continuously improve dashboard functionality, reporting processes, and analytical frameworks as the business scales.
  • Ad hoc reporting and support to the wider team.

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Strong experience in technical data analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with a proven ability to query and manipulate large, complex datasets.
  • Hands‑on experience building dashboards for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of audience metrics, engagement and retention analysis.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical insight to commercial and non‑technical teams.

What We’d Like to See (Bonus)

  • Experience within podcasting, audio, media, or content‑led businesses.
  • Familiarity with multiple data sources and analytics platforms (e.g. streaming, audience, or ad‑tech data).
