Having significantly expanded headcount over the past year, the business is investing heavily in its finance function, systems, and controls. This role will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment and wants to play a key role in building a best-in-class finance operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a critical technical accounting role with broad exposure across the business. You will take ownership of month-end close, complex accounting areas, and statutory reporting, while supporting system improvements and strengthening financial controls.

The role offers a strong blend of hands-on technical delivery and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with FP&A, operations, and external advisors across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Act as a technical accounting lead, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Own inventory accounting across wholesale and e-commerce channels, including valuation, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Monitor daily cash flow and support banking and treasury activities.
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial reporting and support the external audit process.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, controls, and automation within finance.
• Support ERP and systems implementation projects, ensuring alignment with reporting requirements.
• Partner with FP&A and operational teams to improve insight, accuracy, and decision-making.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, or CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting background, ideally within wholesale, e-commerce, retail, or a similar environment.
• Proven experience improving processes and embedding robust controls.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing environment.

Location: London Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 + benefits
