Alliance Psychological Services is an independent provider of counselling and psychological therapy services based in the Tees Valley area and working across the North-East region. We are currently recruiting for a qualified HICBT Therapist. Full or part time will be considered. This role involves high intensity interventions in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), working with adults aged 16+ within the NHS Talking Therapies service for Teesside, which is part of the Impact on Teesside service.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of the Impact PWT/TTAD service team; create and maintain effective working relationships within the TTAD/Primary Care team and with relevant partners.
- Offer advice and support to GPs and other health professionals on mental health issues and referral pathways for patients with mental health needs.
- Liaise effectively with secondary care and voluntary sector organisations; attend meetings and provide reports as required; assist in development and promotion of the service.
- Provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the TTAD framework; conduct assessments including risk assessment; deliver clinically appropriate interventions with clients; operate within designated timeframes; make onward referrals as needed; maintain client confidentiality.
- Carry out safeguarding responsibilities to promote welfare of service users; take appropriate safeguarding actions when required; support families in accessing Early Help Services; share information where appropriate in line with confidentiality protocols.
- Maintain professional standards: keep records, maintain clinical registrations, engage in CPD, undertake clinical supervision, follow NHS/Impact guidelines and codes of practice, promote a safe working environment, and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Be flexible to working hours (between 8am and 8pm on weekdays) as required.
Qualifications
- Essential: Postgraduate Diploma in CBT; accreditation with BACP, BABCP, UKCP, BPS or other recognised professional body; evidence of training in mental health and experience in a stepped care service for anxiety and depression; good CPD record.
- Desirable: Supervision qualification; training in EMDR, MBCBT, IPT; training in Long Term Health Conditions / Medically Unexplained Symptoms for CBT Therapists; Trauma Top Up Training.
Experience
- Essential: Experience in a mental healthcare setting; ongoing clinical supervision of therapeutic work; up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic approaches; ability to manage own caseload and meet service targets; ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively; understanding of mild to moderate mental health problems including anxiety, depression, and related issues.
- Desirable: Experience in Primary Care Services; experience in a service with measurable clinical outcomes.
