We are seeking a qualified and accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our integrated primary care mental health team at HMP Millsike. As a PWP, you will play a key role in delivering highâquality, lowâintensity cognitiveâbehavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression, aligning with Step 2 IAPT guidelines.

Responsibility & Duties
- Accept referrals via agreed protocols, making decisions on suitability and when to refer unsuitable clients or stepâup treatment.
- Assess and support people with mental health problems in selfâmanagement of their recovery.
- Provide assessment and lowâintensity interventions such as psychoâeducational interventions and guided selfâhelp, drawing from CBT theories and techniques.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings and support stepâup/stepâdown arrangements to maintain a steppedâcare approach.
- Ensure client confidentiality and accurate entry of clinical data, maintaining high standards of recordâkeeping.
- Record and evaluate outcome measures as part of the ongoing therapy process.
- Support the collation of monthly performance data for service management and maintain links with statutory and nonâstatutory agencies for continuing care on release from prison.
- Adhere to activity contract and deliver required client contacts per week to minimise waiting times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, stakeholders, colleagues and relevant professionals in both verbal and written form.
- Provide contingency cover to other prisons if required.
Qualifications
- Completed the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and hold a PWP accreditation (BPS or BACP).
- Postâqualification experience delivering the full range of evidenceâbased IAPT lowâintensity interventions at Step 2.
- Experience within a steppedâcare service with demonstrated recovery outcomes.
- Knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral, recordâkeeping and evidenceâbased brief interventions.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relationships and practice nonâdiscriminatory care respectful of cultural practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems.
- Confidence in using clinical supervision, personal development and maintaining professional registration.
- Experience working in a prison environment or with offenders (desirable).
