Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: 44.5 hours per week. Flexible between 7:30 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break. Minimum 26 Saturday mornings per year from 8 am to 12 pm, generally on alternate weekends.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Timber Yard Assistant to join our team in Leicester. As a Timber Yard Assistant you will work as part of a team to maintain a safe, clean, fully functional site, offer a professional service to customers, and undertake various duties that build your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Work externally on the yard alongside the team.
- Perform a variety of tasks – customer service through issuing goods to customers from sales tickets, order picking, stock management via manual rack filling, cutting and processing of materials, housekeeping, and as appropriate forklift duties.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the yard and forecourt.
- Drive our pickup truck to make deliveries to customers safely, lawfully and professionally, when called upon.
- Provide a prompt, polite, helpful and professional service to customers in branch and at delivery destinations, promoting a positive company image.
