About the team

The Journalism and Media team are accredited by The University of the Arts, London (UAL) and deliver the level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology. Level 3 students can choose to follow one of several pathways, including Journalism; TV, Film and Digital Media; Social Media & Content Creation; and Creative Writing. The team also offers level 1 and level 2 entry level courses in Multimedia. The team includes several industry professionals, some of whom work in the industry alongside their commitments to the college. We deliver units in print, broadcasting, and interactive media. The college was recently awarded an overall GOOD status from OFSTED in July 2024.

About the role

As an enthusiastic and talented teacher, you will deliver courses across a range of levels and pathways. UAL is a vocational programme, and students will mostly consist of 16–18-year-olds. We expect content to be delivered to the highest standards using a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning initiatives that engage, motivate, and enable all learners of all abilities to make significant progress from their starting points. You will also be working to address individual learning needs, overcome barriers to learning and encourage autonomous learning.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will ideally be qualified (Level 4 or above) and have a wealth of knowledge and industry experience as well as possibly being new to teaching. You should have knowledge and or experience in one or more of the following areas, print, broadcasting, public relations, or digital media. Skills, knowledge and/or experience using the Adobe Creative Suite is essential, industry experience and freelance work is preferable.
