About the team
The Journalism and Media team is accredited by The University of the Arts, London (UAL) and delivers the Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology. Students can choose pathways including Journalism, TV, Film and Digital Media, social media & Content Creation, and Creative Writing. The team also offers Level 1 and Level 2 entry courses in Multimedia, as well as the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise. The team includes industry professionals and delivers units in print, broadcasting, and interactive media. The college was recently awarded an overall GOOD status from OFSTED in July 2024.
About the role
As an enthusiastic and talented teacher, you will deliver courses across a range of levels and pathways. UAL is a vocational programme, and most students will be 16–18 years old. You are expected to use effective teaching and learning initiatives that engage, motivate, and enable learners of all abilities to make significant progress. You will also address individual learning needs, overcome barriers, and encourage autonomous learning.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will ideally be qualified and have a wealth of knowledge and industry experience, and may be new to teaching. You should have knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Broadcasting
- Interactive digital media
Skills, knowledge, and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite are essential. Industry experience and freelance work is preferable but not required. The successful applicant should be willing to undertake a full teaching qualification with the college while in the role if they do not already possess one.
