Are you a Qualified Electrician looking to move into education or an Electrical Teacher with FE experience? You will support learners enrolled on a range of programmes from Level 2 through to Level 3, including full-time study programmes and Level 3 apprenticeships. Level 2 courses focus on core intermediate knowledge, while Level 3 develops advanced vocational and technical skills.
Responsibilities
- You will help plan, deliver and assess learning that is current, engaging and relevant, supporting both young people and adults to achieve their full potential and progress into sustainable roles within the building services industry.
- Spend part of the week working in the Electrical team at our Harlow Campus.
- Spend part of the week training at Harlow College.
- Follow a personalised training plan designed around your needs.
- You will teach young people across the Education and Training Sector (ETS), collaborating closely with colleagues to support learner progress and wellbeing.
On‑Programme Requirements
- On‑programme Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs). Evidenced through your paid teaching role at Harlow College.
- Teacher Training Course delivered one day per week at the College.
- Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE, grade 4+), required before the programme begins.
This apprenticeship typically takes up to 2 years to complete. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded Level 5 Teaching Certification, qualifying you as a fully trained Teacher.

- Level 3 Electrical qualification.
- Level 2 (GCSE) Maths and English at grade 4 or above or equivalent.
Teaching Route
You do not need a teaching qualification to join us in Further Education. What matters is your passion for developing tomorrow's workforce.
