Employability Tutor (1 position). Salary: Unqualified up to £34,376; Qualified* up to £37,511.

Location: Harlow (significant travel across Southern and Eastern England). Full Time, Permanent.

About the Academy

The Employability, Innovation and Skills Academy delivers a wide range of short employability courses aimed at helping unemployed people gain the knowledge and skills to progress into long‑term employment. We work closely with the Job Centre Plus and other partners to run courses tailored to the current labour market, including core skills such as CV writing, interview skills and communication skills, and vocational courses such as construction and security that provide practical skills and knowledge to apply for licences to work in the industry.

Role Summary

We are looking for dynamic, organised and inspirational tutors to support adult learners in gaining their SIA licence, enhancing their employability prospects and developing skills within the retail, warehouse and storage industry. Courses are delivered across different locations in the south and east of England, requiring significant travel across Eastern and Southern England.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver employability and vocational courses across multiple sites.
  • Facilitate training sessions and ensure learners achieve desired outcomes.
  • Support learners in gaining their SIA licence and improving employability prospects.
  • Ensure effective use of IT tools for course delivery.

Qualifications

  • A level 3 teaching qualification (or willing to work towards one).
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Competency in delivering employability skills.
  • Preferred: own vehicle for travelling (not mandatory).

Desirable

  • Experience in security and/or stewarding.
