We are recruiting Bank Support Workers / Care Assistants to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care across our supported living services.
As a Bank Support Worker, you will provide flexible cover across our locations, supporting individuals with their day-to-day needs while promoting independence, dignity, choice and inclusion. This is a casual bank position, and shifts are not guaranteed. You will need to be flexible and available to work across all of our locations (Great Bentley, Clacton-on-Sea, Colchester and Ipswich) depending on service requirements.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role may involve travelling between services and supporting people to access the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support, including personal care where required
- Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Assist with medication in line with training and care plans
- Promote independence and develop life skills
- Support individuals to attend appointments and access community activities
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Record and report incidents, behaviours and progress
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Work effectively as part of a team and attend handovers and meetings where required
- Provide flexible cover across our services when required
Skills & Experience
- Previous Support Worker or Care Assistant experience is desirable
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is advantageous
- Understanding of safeguarding, autism, learning disabilities and mental health
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, compassionate and proactive approach
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Willingness and ability to travel between all of our locations
- Flexible approach to working days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
