Credit Controller
Location: Edinburgh || Contract:Permanent || Salary:Competitive
Our Edinburgh office is situated in the heart of the bustling city centre, with panoramic views of the castle, gardens and Princes Street below. The office is always alive with activity as it houses a 65-strong team consisting of mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and support teams. The office’s open plan kitchen and staff break out area often plays host to our team’s socialising time, whether it’s over a morning coffee, lunch or after work unwind.
Purpose
Manage and carry out the credit control function for the business. You will be required to provide updated Debtors information to the Directors, Financial Controller and others on a weekly basis. You are responsible for the company’s sales ledger including monthly production of fees and updating of the ledger.

Primary responsibilities:
- To ensure that late fees are followed up with clients in a proactive and timeous manner
- To produce weekly debtors reports
- To ensure that the Financial Controller and Directors are kept informed of any issues.
- To transfer fees from CMAP to Sage Intacct at month end
- To create a new debtors report each month
- To supervise VAT receipts and ensure these are sent timeously
- Daily review of finance inbox and dealing with queries in liaison with other colleagues
- Updating ledgers and reports for daily banking receipts/refunds
- Ad hoc admin duties as required
- To ensure that all data is entered timeously and accurately
- To adhere to company quality, environment and H&S accredited standards as required for your role
- Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you
- Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s health and safety
- Co-operate with your employer on health and safety
- Tell someone (your employer, supervisor or health and safety representative) if you think the work or inadequate precautions are outing anyone’s health and safety at serious risk.
Role Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
- Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner
- Demonstrable experience of the credit control process and role
- Demonstrate a reasonable knowledge in accounting and finance.
- Sound IT skills and experience of finance and project costing software is beneficial
- Possess a sound knowledge of VAT
- Ability to liaise with others at all levels
- Ability to self-motivate and manage own workload with little technical assistance
