We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to grow our supporter base, drive sales of key products and deepen fan relationships whilst supporting our commercial growth.

Harlequins are seeking a Marketing Manager capable of designing and delivering marketing strategies and campaigns to drive engagement across the Club’s suite of products, which include tickets, memberships and merchandise. This role is fundamental in ensuring our products are positioned and promoted effectively to attract and convert existing and new target audiences, in line with the Club’s national and international growth plans. Key outcomes include revenue and engagement, in line with the Club’s commercial objectives. This role also plays a key part in brand strategy and governance. The role has 3 direct reports.

Purpose of the Role: Responsible for developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies that drive brand growth, product revenue and fan engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Marketing
  • Brand Strategy – Develop strategies that build the recognition, consistency and relevance of the Harlequins brand, identifying growth audiences and channels.
  • Brand Campaigns – lead the creative development, messaging, media planning and performance analysis of brand campaigns.
  • Maintain Brand Guidelines & Utilisation – Manage brand guidelines and ensure all internal and external marketing aligns with the Club’s brand voice, tone and visual identity.
  • Oversight of Graphic Design Resource – Line manages internal graphic designer and lead relationship with external resource, overseeing prioritisation of work.
  • Product Marketing
    • Go-to-Market Strategy – lead and own the Go-to-Market strategy for Club products including but not limited to; Men’s and Women’s match ticket sales, club memberships, club events, hospitality sales, kit launches and marquee fixtures.
    • Develop & Influence Product – work with Supporter Experience and Ticketing to ensure products are constructed and communicated in line with fan and market needs.
    • External Insight – ensure team focus on external landscape: market demands, competitive analysis, customer insights and economic challenges to shape campaigns, strategies and internal decision-making.
    • Cross-Department Collaboration – build and maintain strong relationships with key internal functions including Digital, Ticketing, Hospitality, Supporter Experience, Conference & Events and Community.

    The Key Performance Indicators

    • Revenue growth: Deliver marketing campaigns and strategies to support the growth of sales across the Club’s key matchday and non-matchday products.
    • Brand Health: Drive awareness and relevance of the Harlequins brand across key target audiences (both nationally and internationally).
    • Collaboration: Build strong relationships and trust both internally and externally to enable campaign delivery.
    • Reporting: Analyse and communicate marketing effectiveness and ROI to aid internal decision-making and delivery of value to partners.

    The Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed

    • 5+ years’ experience in brand and/or product marketing, preferably within sport, entertainment, events or consumer brands.
    • Preferably, experience with ticket sales.
    • Line management experience, overseeing reports’ day‑to‑day priorities, workload and supporting their personal development.
    • Proven success in developing and executing brand and/or product marketing strategies.
    • Strong storytelling and creative development skills, developing compelling and customer‑focussed campaign narratives, and developing creative that cuts through.
    • Insight‑driven, with a deep understanding of customer personas and journeys.
    • Ability to lead multiple campaigns at once, working collaboratively with teams and prioritising projects in line with club commercial strategy.
    • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure sports environment, and to respond to changing priorities positively.
    • Experience working with agencies and in‑house creative teams.
    • Excellent communication, time and budget management, attention‑to‑detail and process, with an ability to influence others to get work done.
    • Strong knowledge of market trends and consumer purchasing behaviour with an ability to understand challenges and opportunities.
    • Ability to interpret and respond to data and insights with tempo, including sales reports, media performance and Google Analytics.
    • Strong understanding of key media channels including paid social, OOH, search.
    • Knowledge of user journey mapping to drive awareness and sales conversion through digital and offline customer journeys.
    • Self‑reliance, drive, energy, innovation, creativity and a strong focus on accuracy.
    • Ability to think tactically and creatively, bringing fresh ideas and innovation.
    • Excellent time and stakeholder management skills along with commercial acumen to deliver campaigns that support club partner and club data growth objectives.
    • Ability to allocate and track budget effectively to ensure maximum ROI and adherence to assigned budgets.
    • People management skills: communicating team priorities, delegation and capacity, supporting personal and professional development.
