Overview of Business

We are partnering with a North London residential developer to recruit a Technical / Senior Technical Manager to support the delivery of their fire remediation portfolio.

The business is responsible for a diverse mix of occupied and unoccupied residential buildings, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and high‑quality technical governance.

Job description

  • Effectively manage Teams daily (Internal and External) to ensure the delivery of fully coordinated construction packages on time and within budget
  • Overseeing teams in your management to ensure the Building Control and warranty condition discharge process is proactively addressed to ensure smooth delivery of plot completions
  • Ensure that schemes are designed to standard details, Construction Design Guides and specification to suit building, and economic considerations, driving design consistency across projects
  • Taking an active role in QA inspections on site, ensuring compliance with approved details and the department benchmarking procedures
  • Lead, motivate, communicate with, and develop staff under your management to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company’s needs
  • Manage technical fee budgets, invoicing and reporting of costs diligently and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Establish and enforce quality and standards in schemes, and maintain the good image of the company
  • Demonstrate an awareness of future legislation, changing standards and construction product innovations
  • Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Technical Department Manual and ensure compliance with the same throughout your team
  • Establish good working relationships with site staff and departments to ensure clear lines of communication are established and to encourage feedback for inclusion in future schemes to avoid repeat non-productive costs and share lessons learnt
  • Develop good working relationships with Building Control, Warranty providers and Stakeholders such as Housing Associations and Resident Management Companies.
  • Working within the building safety team, which is working towards the remediation of multiple projects requiring works.
  • To challenge the design solution to ensure VFM and compliance to the current building regulations and Building Safety Act.
  • Cross department working with excellent project management skills
  • Presenting and preparing board reports

Essential experience

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a construction or engineering‑related discipline.
  • Strong background in Technical Management within residential development, main contracting, or façade remediation.
  • Confident coordinating multi‑disciplinary design teams and managing complex technical information.
