We are working with the East Scotland division of a leading housebuilder to recruit an Engineer to join their Technical team.
The Engineer will oversee the design and delivery of infrastructure and groundworks packages for residential developments. Working closely with external consultants, statutory bodies, and the internal Technical Team, you will ensure designs are compliant, cost‑effective, and aligned with programme requirements. Procure service records and manage utilities enquiries for new developments, ensuring timely payment and coordination of new infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee external Consulting Engineers producing designs for foundations, estate roads, sewers, and all external works, including S38, S104, and S278 submissions.
- Secure adoption agreements (S38, S104, S278) in line with programme milestones, ensuring bonds are arranged, monitored, reduced, and closed out efficiently.
- Contribute to structural design requirements for superstructure elements.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation and peer review of consultant designs to ensure best‑value engineering and statutory compliance.
- Liaise with the wider Technical Team to support the discharge of planning conditions and building regulations.
Essential experience:
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an Engineering‑related discipline with around 5 years’ experience.
- Background in civil or structural design, ideally within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong coordination and communication skills, with confidence dealing with statutory bodies (e.g., sewerage undertakers, highway authorities).
- Proficient with engineering design software, particularly Autodesk; PDS or MicroDrainage experience beneficial.
