Harken Search are partnered with an SME residential developer based in North London to appoint a Graduate Design / Technical Assistant within their Fire Legacy Team. Our client delivers high-quality residential schemes and offers a strong focus on technical excellence, compliance, and long-term career development.
The Graduate Design / Technical Assistant will support the Fire Legacy Team across a portfolio of residential developments. This role is well suited to a graduate with a design or built environment background who is looking to develop a technical understanding of fire safety, compliance, and coordination within residential development.
Working closely with internal technical teams and external consultants, the successful candidate will assist with design reviews, information management, and coordination tasks, while developing the skills required to progress into a technical or design coordination role. The position requires a proactive, agile individual who can work effectively as part of a team, while also demonstrating the ability to use their own initiative when required.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the Fire Legacy Team with technical and design-based tasks
- Assisting with the coordination of drawings, reports, and consultant information
- Reviewing and managing technical documentation related to fire safety and compliance
- Supporting communication between internal teams and external consultants
- Tracking actions and assisting with compliance-related processes
- Taking initiative on tasks while maintaining strong collaboration with the wider team
- Graduate level qualification in architecture, design, or a related built environment discipline
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Organised, adaptable, and able to work on own initiative
- Keen interest in developing a career within technical or design coordination
- RIBA Part I or similar experience advantageous but not essential
