HarKaye Core Talent is currently partnering with a well-established and highly regarded Yorkshire law firm to recruit a Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client team based in York. This opportunity would suit either:

  • A Newly Qualified Solicitor with experience in Wills & Probate, or
  • An experienced Solicitor / Legal Executive looking to take the next step in their career.

You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client care across Private Client matters.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of Private Client matters including:

  • Wills
  • Probate and Estate Administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Client advisory work
  • Supporting wider team matters where required

This role offers excellent long-term progression within a forward-thinking and people-focused legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload of Private Client matters
  • Taking initial client instructions and providing tailored legal advice
  • Drafting Wills and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Administering estates and Probate matters
  • Handling new client enquiries
  • Supporting colleagues within the Private Client team
  • Billing files and managing financial aspects of matters
  • Maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge and compliance standards

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Able to manage deadlines efficiently
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within Wills & Probate preferred
  • All levels of PQE considered
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a current practising certificate (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
