An award-winning and highly respected Civil Liberties team is looking for an experienced Solicitor to join their Actions Against the Police practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-profile cases where you can make a real difference to clients whose rights have been breached. You’ll manage your own caseload, collaborate with a supportive team, and gain exposure to challenging and varied civil claims.
Responsibilities
- Advise and represent clients in civil claims against the police and other public bodies.
- Investigate allegations of police misconduct and gather evidence.
- Draft letters of claim and litigation documents.
- Negotiate settlements and, where necessary, take cases through court proceedings.
- Work with expert witnesses, manage disclosure, and prepare cases for trial.
- Deliver exceptional client care throughout every stage of the process.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in civil litigation, actions against public authorities or human rights.
- Previous experience in Actions Against the Police or civil liberties work is highly desirable.
- Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
