A leading full-service law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a legal background to join its established marketing and business development team. This is a full-time role reporting directly to the Head of Business Development & Marketing.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth across the firm by developing and implementing business development initiatives. You will work closely with partners and fee-earners to identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and grow the firm’s profile across key markets and sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of firmwide and departmental business development strategies.
  • Lead on client development and work-winning activity, collaborating closely with legal teams.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, identifying new opportunities.
  • Deliver targeted sector and service line campaigns and contribute to cross-selling initiatives.
  • Take a proactive role in internal engagement to promote a BD-focused culture across the firm.

  • Previous experience in a business development role within the legal sector is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the legal services market, including key sectors and client expectations.
